Psa 119:105  NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

What a comfort it is to know that in these dark and turbulent days in which we live, when all around us uncertainty looms, there is a place we can turn for guidance.  We have God’s assurance from this scripture that his words will guide our steps … the decisions we make and the way we live our lives.  Whether we are male or female, single or married, young or old or somewhere in between, we can always open up God’s word and find something relevant to our life at that very moment.  And that is what the Lord desired for us when he wrote his words.

2Timothy 3:16 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

In this passage the phrase “given by inspiration of God” comes from a single Greek word which means “divinely breathed in”.  Isn’t it great to know that God didn’t just move on men to write something from their own thoughts, he actually put his words in them and caused them to write what they did.  I like the next part too, where it says it is profitable (helpful, advantageous).  Sometimes we look into the word and it reaffirms us, sometimes it challenges us, and sometimes it reproves or corrects us, but always it is working to help us.  If you are not saved, the word will bring you to salvation.  If you are already saved the bible will bring you to perfection and insure that you have everything you need to make you successful in the work that God has for you to do.

I hope the next time you open your bible, you will see the scriptures in a new light as his light shines on your path.
