“The question for each man is not what he would do if he had the means, time, influence and educational advantages, but what he will do with the things he has.
Frank Hamilton
I found the quote above very thought provoking and wanted to share it with you this week. So many times I myself have wanted to wait until all the conditions were perfect and everything was in place before taking a course of action. Maybe in a few weeks or months I’ll be better prepared, or better qualified to start a new project. But the perfect conditions, the perfect state of mind or being, rarely occur. What I have learned over the years is that more often than not, we must do the best we can with the tools, talents, level of experience we currently possess and grow as we go forward.
Down through the ages, God has used less than perfect people to do many things; some events are more well known (who can forget David and Goliath), and some less well known (the Samaritan woman who spread the word that the Messiah had spoken with her beside a well). The bottom line is that David and the woman saw a need to do something, and did it.
Most of the things we learn in life, and in God, we learn as we attempt things. What will you do with the abilities God has given you right now? That’s the question. What’s your answer?
God Bless and Have a Great Week!
