For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” (1Pe 1:24-25)

Where is your hope today? Is it in the world you see around you; in the investments you’ve made for a retirement that seems to continually push out farther and farther into the future; in the outgoing or incoming political administrations? Over time empires rise and fall, economies thrive and collapse, theories rise to prominence, are all but accepted by the masses, and then later are dispelled based on newly discovered facts. Conventional wisdom seemingly changes as quickly as the weather.

However, in this day and age when all around is shifting sand, there is a firm foundation, there is a solid rock, there is something and someone in whom you can hope securely. The word of the Lord endures forever, and Jesus Christ is the word, the everlasting, living God (John 1:1). There is nothing beyond his ability to handle, and he isn’t going anywhere. He is just a prayer away. You can place your hope in him with the utmost confidence. Listen to what the apostle Paul said to Timothy:

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” (2Ti 1:12)

If your life seems uncertain and your hopes dashed by this world, put your hope in Jesus Christ. Commit yourself to him in obedience to his word. Become a child of God by being born again of water and the Spirit according to Acts 2:38, and you will have a hope that can endure the test of time and the trials of this life; a hope that will carry you beyond this world and into that place the Lord has prepared for those who love him and are looking for his appearing.

God Bless and Have a Great Week!
